Claire Fritz, age 86, of Brighton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Claire was born on September 19, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Joseph and Nellie Roussel. She graduated from Madison Heights High School and was married in 1960 to her late husband Bill Fritz. Together they had four children. Bill’s job moved them to multiple places. They raised their children in Indianapolis, IN and Berkley, MI. They spent time in Oregon and eventually moved back to Michigan.

Claire was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who found her greatest happiness in time spent with her family.  Claire enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and was eager to meet new friends.  Claire enjoyed dancing and never missed an opportunity to line dance, especially the Electric Slide.  She was known for her chocolate chip cookies, a cherished staple at family gatherings that will be lovingly remembered.

Claire will be remembered and deeply missed by her children: Teresa (Dave) Dissett, Sherette (Bob) Mickles, Bill (Dawn) Fritz, and Kathy Fritz, as well as her grandchildren: Britney Mickles, Jessica (Corey) Scuglik, Shaye (Jeff) Williams, Anthony (Charlotte) Fritz, Alec (Sarah) Fritz, Abby Fritz, Emma (Grant) Norris, and Lexi (Connor) Herbert; and her great-grandchildren, whom she adored. She is also survived by her sister, Marie Clark, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Claire was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Fritz and her son, Brad Fritz.

She will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
